5 romantic movies that you can watch with your soon- to-be-boyfriend

Time for the next step?

OK, now you started dating him 2 weeks ago. Thing seems to go well. You feel great with him. You want to ask him if he feels the same but you say to yourself:

“Hum… Maybe too soon”.

He proposes to go to the movies tonight. Well, they are 4 superheroes movies in the theaters this week… Then you think about a romantic movie. Good idea! It happens that one of the greatest technique you can use when you feel that you may have found the right one, is to create  situations that feel like you are in couple. Let’s say it’s like a rehearsal for the future… You just show him what it will feel like to be with you.

“Let’s pretend we’re married” – Let’s pretend we’re married. Prince

There is a great way to play that cute couple. You have to create that energy that creates intimacy. Watching a romantic movie is maybe the perfect solution to reach your goal…

A romantic movie? Are you kidding?

It’s well-known. Most men hate romantic movies. We call them “girl movie” when we were kids. Now, what is great is that you can watch those movies alone with your crush: all you need is a DVD player or Netflix (yeah, seems that they don’t make that genre of movie anymore…). You already know that he will roll his eyes when you will make that suggestion. But, if you played it well, he will feel that he owns you something. You have approved his suggestions before. Twice. Now, it’s your turn. He thinks that he will just have to suck it up and watch that awful movie with Julia Roberts or Renée Zellweger. And that’s when you will surprise him. He will see that you could be a great girlfriend: you have thought about him: hey!  the movie of your choice is a romantic story that men can watch. Maybe your choice will be one of those 5 movies that I just loved watching with my lady.

Silver linings playbook (2012)

My favorite romantic movie ever! What a talented cast. This movie is sharp and the chemistry between Bradley cooper and Jennifer Lawrence is unbelievable. So it’s the story of a man with bipolar disorder who wants to win back his wife. He meets a widow who says that she will help him. But the catch is that he must help her to enter a dance competition as a partner. Again, wow! This one is a winner, lady. Click here to see the trailer.

There something about Mary (1998)

If I remember well, it was the first hit movie Cameron Diaz had (by the way read the article How to find the right husband without having a headache to learn more about her opinion about having a strong relationship and getting married). Sure, this movie has a lot of low humor but if you don’t mind ( and neither your man), it’s a classic. You both will have fun. To see more, click here.

Jerry Maguire (1996)

My second favorite romantic movie. So good that many men with not even notice that it’s indeed a love movie. A sensational cast. Maybe the best role Tom Cruise ever had… What do you think? In case you have not seen that classic yet, Jerry Maguire is a sport agent who will have to learn more about intimacy.  I will not say more. Have fun! Take a look here.

I walk the line (2005)

OK, I have to admit that I watch that movie with my sister and not with my girlfriend. I’m now a Joaquin Phoenix fan because of that movie. And I don’t even like Johnny Cash! In this movie, you will see the early years of the legend. Sadly, his instability (emotional and financial) will be the reason of the failure of this first marriage. Reese Witherspoon is wonderful. To see a bit of that movie,  walk this way.

Groundhog day (1993)

Oh, the slaps Bill Murray gets in this movie! He plays Phil, a TV weatherman. In real life, he’s a real duche. Suddenly, after a snowstorm, he feels that every day looks the same. Indeed, he lives the same day over and over. With the same “hellos” “ and the same “what do you want to eat this morning”. So since he’s caught in that rat race, he starts to learn more about the same people he meets over and over… He even falls in love with his producer, Rita. A smart and dumb movie at the same time. Just what we, men, love! Watch.

I could talk about “her” (again the great Joaquin Phoenix) and the movie “slumdog millionaire”. I’ve heard a lot about those movies. But I have not seen them yet…

Do you have any suggestion? Any comments? Leave them in the little box below.

Now you know that creating that romantic and intimate atmosphere with a movie that men will like is a great strategy to go to the next level with that cute guy you like so much.

Now go! And have some fun!
